Theo Aalders is a Humboldt Postdoctoral fellow pachinkoing around the world between Bonn, Boston, and Beijing. His research focus is infrastructure, especially unbuilt and unfinished “ghost projects”, infrastructure sabotage, so-called “sewer socialism”, and labour relations around construction sites. He applies his knowledge about unfinished projects by not finishing a graphic novel on an unfinished development corridor in Kenya and calls it “method writing”, but few people find that convincing (including his publisher).
