Rakesh Sengupta is Assistant Professor of English and Cinema Studies at the University of Toronto. His research sits at the intersection of film history, media archaeology, critical AI, and postcolonial studies. His academic and public writing on film and media have appeared in Theory, Culture & Society, Bioscope, The Wire, and Dawn, among others. He has previously taught at the University of Amsterdam and holds a PhD from SOAS.
